About Pup Fiction
Pup Fiction is a neighborhood pet-care company serving Brooklyn · Queens · Manhattan, built around one simple idea: every pet deserves thoughtful, personal care, and every walk has a story.
Founded by Carlos José Martínez, Pup Fiction grew from years of hands-on experience caring for dogs throughout New York City. What began with daily walks, puppy care, and long-term relationships with local pet families has evolved into a more complete approach to pet care: one that combines reliability, communication, technology, and genuine affection for the animals we look after.
For us, pet care is never just about getting a dog around the block or checking a food bowl. Every animal has its own personality, routine, energy level, preferences, fears, habits, and little quirks. We take the time to learn those details so that each walk, visit, or stay feels familiar, safe, and tailored to the individual pet.

Personal care, not one-size-fits-all
Before beginning regular care, we want to understand your pet. Through a Meet & Greet and their Pup Fiction pet profile, we learn about routines, walking preferences, temperament, feeding instructions, triggers, medications or allergies when relevant, and anything else that helps us provide consistent care.
That information stays connected to your pet's profile, so their care doesn't depend on someone remembering a conversation from months ago.
Trust starts with communication
Leaving a pet (and sometimes access to your home) with someone requires real trust. That's why communication is a central part of Pup Fiction.
During services, our platform is designed to keep pet parents informed with clear status updates. After a walk or visit, you'll receive a Pup Report with relevant details such as bathroom activity, water, treats, mood, photos, and a personal note about how your pet's time went.
And because this is Pup Fiction, some adventures may also include an optional Today's Pup Fiction: a playful little story inspired by the real events of your pet's day. The factual report always stays separate from the fun.
Safety comes before the story
The cute part of Pup Fiction should never come at the expense of responsible care. We follow the routines and instructions provided for each pet, pay attention to temperament and environmental conditions, and never make assumptions about interactions with other animals, food, medication, or access to the home.
Group walks are supervised closely from start to finish. We read body language, manage pace, and step in early whenever a dog needs a break or a little more space, so the whole group stays calm and everyone has a good time. Pets who do better with individual attention are always welcome to solo care instead.

Pup Fiction currently serves Brooklyn · Queens · Manhattan. We understand that caring for pets in New York has its own rhythm: apartment buildings, elevators, busy sidewalks, unpredictable weather, neighborhood parks, changing work schedules, and pets who often spend part of the day waiting for their humans to come home.
Our goal is to make that daily routine easier for both sides. For the pet, that means consistency, attention, exercise, enrichment, and companionship. For the human, it means knowing what happened without having to send three texts asking, "Did everything go okay?"
More than dog walking
Pup Fiction is growing into a complete pet-care platform. Alongside dog walking, puppy visits, cat care, pet sitting, and training support, we're building digital tools that make caring for a pet easier and more transparent.
Pet profiles, schedules, walk status, reports, photos, care information, and future personalized pet guidance can all live in one place. Technology is there to support the relationship, not replace it.
